Week 2 Silent Reading | Graphic Novel

Graphic Novel - read one of the graphic novels from the selection provided. Write a paragraph about your favourite part.

The Graphic Novel I read is called; The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In this book there are 6 chapters, each chapter are new short story's. My favourite chapter is chapter 3, A Pirates Life. In this part Tom and his friend Joe Harper were feeling low. So they both decided to run away. They asked Huckleberry Finn to come along with them because he knew about robbing and stealing. They escaped on a raft to began their lives as pirates. Everyone back home thought they were dead so they made a funeral for the 3 boys and when they came back home they snuck into the church where the funeral was being held to

watch their own funeral. They were caught and had to apologise to their parents. THE END

Week 1 Silent Reading | Picture Books

Picture Books: read at least three picture books from within the classroom. Write a paragraph about your favourite book. Remember to include the storyline and the illustrations in your response.

My favourite book out of the 3 I read last week was called; How the Kumara Came to Aotearoa. It told a Maori tale about how kumara came to New Zealand. I liked the type of style the illustrator used for the drawings in the book.
